Communication Model by Naren as on 02/09/2013

Newcomb's Model.


Communicator (A) ---> Receiver (B) { Social Environment X}

-> ABX system of communication which means that their internal relation are inter-dependant.

-> The significance of the model is that it tries to explain the role of communication in society.

-> This model assumes significance in the light of people's increasing need for information.

-> in a democracy, people need adequate information about their social environment so that they can identify their problems and share with their peer group.


Shanon and Weaver's Model of Communication.

A mathematical theory of communications in 1948 which later came to know as 'Shanon -Weaver' model of communication.

Sender        -->  Encoder     --> Channel --> Decoder  --> Receiver
Information       Transmitter                          Reception      Destination


Noise : A message will be distorted , if for reasons like technical problems.
